Apple Pie Oatmeal

 Apple Pie Oatmeal

2 tbsp butter
2 apples, chopped
1-1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp clove
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups milk (we prefer whole but any will work)
2 cups apple juice (you can use water)

  1. Chop apples. We usually leave the skin on but you can remove it.
  2. Melt butter in a large pot on the stove. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. Stir occasionally and cook until apples are tender.
  3. Pour in oats, milk and juice. Mix well.
  4. Cook until the oats have reached the desired consistency, usually 3-5 minutes. They will look watery while the heat is still on so be careful not to over cook.
